YELLOW PAINT

YELLOW PAINT is an interactive fragmented piece about folded time and queerness. It was exhibited as part of APT 3: THRESHOLDS (2025), curated by Miso and Robin Leverton.

The artwork is inspired by the concept of ‘yellow paint’ in game design: an often contested way to clearly signal objects that can be interacted with in a game.

Bringing this function from the virtual world into the physical space of the apartment, I disseminate yellow objects throughout the space for the audience to interact with, creating a non-linear pathway through my queer journey. Each object had been augmented through the use of NFC tags to reveal a ‘second’ dimension. These objects  function as portals through time and space, illuminating my past through my present understanding of myself and my queer identity.
